Storytelling for Fundraising: How Brandidly Helped Deer Lodge Centre Foundation Raise $1.5 Million

Your nonprofit has powerful stories. They just aren’t raising money yet.

Most nonprofit teams are doing incredible work in their communities.

But when it’s time to fundraise, many organizations struggle to clearly communicate the real human impact behind that work.

Stories are happening every day, in programs, in conversations, in quiet moments that change someone’s life.

But without a system to capture and use them, those stories never reach donors in a meaningful way.

Most teams end up operating in urgency.

This program is designed to help you move to intention.

Stories That Raise Money is an 8-week nonprofit storytelling training program that helps organizations build a repeatable system for capturing and using impact stories to support fundraising, sponsorship, and donor engagement.

Turn Your Organization’s Impact into Stories That Inspire Donors

This is not just social media training.

It’s a practical, structured approach to storytelling that supports how your organization raises money.

Inside this program, you will learn how to identify the stories already happening within your work, shape them into clear narratives, and use them across your fundraising efforts.

When storytelling is connected to fundraising, everything becomes easier to communicate. Donors understand the impact. Campaigns feel more grounded. Teams spend less time scrambling and more time building connections.

Why Storytelling Matters for Nonprofit Fundraising

Donors rarely give because of statistics. They give because they understand a person, a moment, or a change that feels real.

Most nonprofit communications focus on outputs, how many people were served, and how many programs were delivered.

But stories do something different. They help donors see what actually changed. They help supporters understand why their contribution matters. And they create a connection that numbers alone can’t.

Making Storytelling Sustainable Across Your Team

A common concern we hear is this: “How do we involve frontline staff without adding more work?”

In many organizations, storytelling starts strong and then quietly disappears.

This program addresses that directly.

You’ll learn how to build simple, realistic processes that fit into the work your team is already doing.

Storytelling becomes something your team can contribute to naturally, without pressure or added workload.
